Cotinus Royal Purple

Cotinus coggygria ‘Royal Purple’ (Royal Purple Smoketree) is a deciduous shrub or small tree prized for its deep purple to burgundy foliage that creates a dramatic focal point in the landscape. In late spring to early summer, it produces plume-like, smoky pink to purplish flower clusters, giving the plant its characteristic “smoketree” appearance. ‘Royal Purple’ forms a rounded, upright habit with sturdy branches and medium growth rate, making it ideal as a specimen plant, accent shrub, or small tree in borders and mixed plantings. Its bold foliage color and airy floral display make it a standout addition to ornamental gardens and landscape designs.
